I paint because there is something inside of me that calls for expression. The passion that moves me to
create opens time to a larger political arena where reality, life, and beauty mix with my comparative frustration. My
painting is an escape from the mundane; the size of the canvas allows for a larger discovery of life where I push paint, push
wheelchair, pushing the canvas to a timeless spot of energy, to the point of infinite depth.
I make a canvas dance, live,
and even walk; something that I'm unable to do. Acrylic is the medium I use because I am a fast painter, a racer. I have a need
to experience and understand the process of my painting to better comprehend the world, yet, as a creator, as an artist, I still
get lost in my work. I paint, I do not write. My work is like life. You can never go back, never truly leave the moment. I can
attain the higher thought beyond language through art, through creation. Life is funny. Had my lifestyle not changed, I might
never have fulfilled my dream. My calling in this life is to create art, to be a conduit for beauty to enter into my world. This
is not bullshit. This statement in itself is bullshit. |
